To Precede This Class by its Quotation

Most of the material for this class was taken directly from http://www.madore.org/~david/computers/quine.html, wherefrom I invite you to learn a bit more on quines. The last part of the class discussed Ken Thompson's Turing Award lecture, Reflections on Trusting Trust. The Turing Award is the most prestigious prize in Computer Science, sort of like the Nobel Prize in science. Ken Thompson is pretty famous, having written much of Unix and being generally brilliant (he now works at Google on the Go language). The talk is online.
